I'm Delia, and I run Art by Delia from Knysna. This page says what I collect, why, and who else sees it, in line with POPIA, South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.

When you order

I ask for your name, email and WhatsApp number, your delivery address if a courier or locker brings your order, and for a commission, your pet's photos and notes. I use them only to draw your portrait, deliver it and keep you posted. They're stored with the site's host, Netlify, for as long as I need them for your order and my records.

You pay on Stitch's secure payment page. Your card or bank details go to Stitch, never to this site: I only learn that you paid, and how much.

Receipts are emailed through Resend. Messages from the contact and waitlist forms are kept by Netlify and emailed to me.

I only share your pet's finished portrait on Instagram and in the gallery if you tick the box that allows it when you order.

On this device

Your cart, an unfinished commission and your details are saved in this browser, so you don't have to type them again. They're cleared once your order is paid; the browser then only remembers your order number, so a sale is counted once. The only cookie is a short-lived one that matches your return from the payment page to your order.

Analytics

I use PostHog to see which pages people visit and where they get stuck, so I can make the site easier to use. It uses no cookies: it keeps a random ID in this browser's storage instead, or only for the page you're on if your browser blocks storage. Clicks are counted without their text, and recordings of visits hide all text, everything you type and the photos you upload, so your name, email and pictures never appear. The payment confirmation page is never recorded, and no order is linked to a visit. PostHog uses your IP address to estimate your town and country, then discards it, and keeps this data in the European Union. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is collected.

Your rights

You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, unless I have to keep it for my records. Email hello@artbydelia.com or message me on WhatsApp. If you're not happy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator.
